Research Group Law, Rhetoric and Literature

Main content

This research group is focused on the interdisciplinary field of law, rhetoric and literature. As a continuation and critique of the "law and literature"-movement as it emerged in the U.S in the 80s and 90s, the research is concerned with the common ground of legal science and literary science. The first Norwegian seminar on this subject took place at the University of Bergen in 1997. In recent years the Norwegian contributions to this field have focused on semiotic, hermeneutical and rhetorical aspects of law and legal practice.
