How to apply to UNIS

UNIS and UiB use the same application system. Make sure you have chosen the correct institution at the top of the login page of Søknadsweb.

For questions regarding your application to UNIS, please contact study@unis.no

UiB as a second choice

UNIS has a limited enrollment capacity. We therefore recommend that you consider applying for courses at UiB as well as UNIS. That way you will have the option to come to UiB on exchange if you are not granted admission to UNIS.

If you want UiB as your second choice, remember to choose both courses at UiB and the option UNIS in UiB's application form.

Admission

UNIS will inform you and UiB directly if you are admitted to the courses you have applied for.

If you get admitted to UNIS, UiB will issue your letter of acceptance by 28 November.

You must accept the offer at both UNIS and UiB. We will give you more detailed information during the application process.

Student housing, registration and learning agreement

Student housing

Once admitted to courses at UNIS you can apply for student housing in Longyearbyen through Samskipnaden.

If UiB is also an option for you, you may also apply for student housing in Bergen while you are waiting for an answer from UNIS or UiB.

You can cancel your housing with Sammen if needed without any extra costs if you follow the instructions and deadlines for cancellation (see bottom of page under “Cancellation of the housing offer”).

It is very important that you remember to cancel your student housing in Bergen if you get admitted to UNIS. The cancellation deadline is 30 November

Semester registration for admitted students

Follow UNIS' instructions on how to register for the semester.

On 16 December you will get access to UiBs online services. You need to follow the instructions on how to claim your user account at UiB as you will need to log into Studentweb at the end of your stay at UNIS in order to get access to your transcript of records

You do not need to register for the semester at UiB.

Certificate of Arrival and Learning Agreement

Certificates of Arrival are signed in Longyearbyen for students who are admitted at UNIS.
