Experiment 1:

We prepare salt water that tastes like sea water (approximately 7 teaspoons of salt per 1 liter of water) and put some of it into a glass. We then add an ice cube that we froze from water that was dyed with food coloring. As soon as the ice cube starts melting, the colored melt water will form a new layer near the surface, floating on top of the clear salt water.
