It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our friend, colleague and teacher Morten Eide Pedersen has died.
Main content
Morten was a uniquely generous and wise man who meant a great deal for many after he came to the Bergen Conservatory of Music in 1989. His unexpected death is a huge loss for us all and it is difficult to see how we should go on without him. He continuously and generously shared his outstanding competencies and wisdom with students and colleagues. Morten moved all around him, and he allowed himself to be moved, not in the least by the many students that he taught.
Morten was a composer, author and music scholar, but was also studied in philosophy, mathematics and informatics. Research, artistic development and education were tightly interwoven for him.
Morten’s long contribution has created significant marks on Norwegian music life.
Rest in peace.
