Seismics and CO2 sequestration

Application of seismics in CO2 storage

Main content

The use of seismics will be increasingly important in the characterization and evaluation of potential subsurface reservoirs for the storage of greenhouse gas CO2, and also in the reservoir monitoring during the sequestration process and detection of possible leakage zones. The present research is a part of the UNIS CO2 project conducted in Longyearbyen.
