Research groups
Short info
My primary field of research is European data protection law. For my PhD project I research the concept of personal data in the GDPR, from the perspective of legal hermeneutics. I view data protection as a relational phenomenon: personal data arise when 'I' knows 'P' about 'S'.
Research
I work with questions concerning European data protection law, emergent technologies (such as artificial intelligence), legal theory and legal philosophy, as well as legal education, pedagogy and didactics.
Teaching
Besides teaching and tutoring students in European data protection law, I primarily teach various subjects in international law: public international law, human rights, and EU law. I also have extensive experience teaching various fields of Norwegian law.
Projects
Presently I am working full time on my PhD project titled "The Concept of Personal Data" (2023–2027). Main supervisor: Malgorzata A. Cyndecka (UiB). Co-supervisor: Lee A. Bygrave (UiO).
