Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Main content

This project is focused on designing robust, reliable, and accurate numerical methods for solving the equations of compressible fluid dynamics, the so-called Euler equations for inviscid flows and the Navier-Stokes equations for viscous flows.

The research ranges from computational mathematics to large scale parallel computing. Central on the mathematical side is convergence of numerical approximations. To demonstrate the efficacy of the methods the schemes are programmed and various test cases are run on massively parallel computers.

Students at UoB interested to carry out a Master's project in CFD are welcome to contact Magnus Svärd.
