Electromagnetic fields in ships and reproductive health in men
This is a follow-up of Project HMS Sea, concluded 31/12-2006 at the University of Bergen. HMS Sea was a survey of work environment and health in the Navy.

Main content
There are still many unanswered questions regarding the issue of staff on ships have problems related to reproduction that possibly could be due to electromagnetic fields from communication equipment on board. The purpose of this project is to gain more knowledge about the relationship between exposure to electromagnetic fields and reproductive health in men. There is a desire to study reproductive outcomes for men in the Navy and whether these are different depending on the extent to which one has worked close to communication equipment on the vessels, and to see if these are different in different vessels in the Navy. In addition, we want to study whether there is a correlation between exposure to electromagnetic fields and biological measurable changes in male reproductive health. This project is funded by the University of Bergen and the time frame 2009-2013. Project manager: Bente E. Moen. Fellow Ole Jacob Møllerløkken.
