Levels of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and physiological and biochemical changes in farm associated wild fish caught in Masfjorden, Norway

Aquaculture in Norway is a steadily growing industry. Over the last years there have been reports that both aqua feed and farmed fish around the world contain persistant organic pollutants (POP) and the safety of consuming farmed fish has been questioned. 

Linda has investegated if wild caught saithe (Pollachius virens) feeding close to an aqua farm has different POP profiles and fatty acid profiles than saithe from an area without aquafarms. She has also investegated gene responses and biomarker activity.
