Jeg er medlem av forskningsgruppen for presisjonsonkologi, men også prosjekter knyttet til min gamle forskergruppe ved OUS - Radiumhospitalet, i hovdsak studier av kreft i binde- og støttevev, såkalte sarkomer. Dette er svulster med trekk fra mesenkymale vev, dvs. som stammer fra embryoets indre cellemasse. Vi har særlig konsentrert oss om osteo- og liposarkomer, svulster som ligner bein og fettvev.  Fra Bergen leder jeg to store nasjonale prosjekter der vi undersøker hvilke genskader som finnes i 9 forskjellige krefttyper, hvilke av disse som er viktige i kreftutviklingen, og om noen av dem kan brukes til å velge bedre og mer "persontilpasset" kreftbehanlding.
