New PhD student

Justine Siegwald has begun her PhD studies at the Department of Natural History, University Museum of Bergen on the 1st of March 2018. Justine is native from France and holds an European Master degree from the University of Ghent, Belgium with a thesis on the nudibranch Eubranchus farrani' species complex. Her research project is about the systematics, phylogeny, speciation, and biogeography of deep sea organisms. The focal group is the gastropod genus Scaphander distributed worldwide. This model-group will be used to address broader questions of marine diversification and historical biogeography in the deep sea using a combination of morphological characters and molecular phylogenetic methods.
