International students

Please note that you may only be registered for one Norwegian language course per semester. Exception: NOR-NYN may be combined with NOR-U3 or NOR-U4.

There are no language entry requirements for NOR-INTRO, NOR-U1 or NOR-U1/2. Applicants who have acquired knowledge of Norwegian outside of UiB, must sign up for and complete a placement test in order to register for NOR-U2, NOR-U3, NOR-U4 and NOR-NYN.

NOR-INTRO, NOR-U1, NOR-U1/2

• Apply for admission in Studentweb between 16 December and 3 January.

NOR-NYN

• Apply for admission in Studentweb between 16 December and 1 February. 

NOR-U2, NOR-U3, NOR-U4

• Register in Studentweb between 16 December and 1 February.

Students who are not offered admission to NOR-INTRO, NOR-U1, NOR-U1/2 after applying, will automatically be placed on a waiting list. Those who get admitted off the waiting list will be notified by email if there are available seats up until the registration deadline.

NOR-U2, NOR-U3, NOR-U4 doens not have a waiting list. Studentweb will be updated with available seats up until the registration deadline. Students who are initially unable to sign up for a course, are encouraged to check Studentweb regularly.

Our courses take place on campus. Make sure that you sign up for a course group that fits your schedule and that you have enough time between your courses to get from one to the other. You must also make sure that your exams don't conflict.

If you need to switch groups after you have registered/been admitted, you must find another student who wants to switch with you. Once you have found someone to switch with, one of you can fill out this form to switch groups.
