History of the fluid mechanics group

The Fluid Mechanics group at the University of Bergen originates from the emerging focus on marine and atmospheric physics that occurred at the University in the 1970s and 1980s and was one of the inaugural research groups at the Department of Mathematics. Fluid Mechanics research has been an active research area since the foundation of the department and has seen a total renewal in the last 15 years. In fact, all current members of the group have been hired since 2005, making the group on of the youngest and most dynamic groups in the department
