Preparedness for multicrisis

Scandic Hotel - 28th of October 2024

In a world where one crisis seems to overlap with the next, the Pandemic Centre invites you to a one-day international conference on "Preparedness for Multicrisis" on the 28th of October 2024 in Bergen, Norway.

Join us as we explore innovative ways to improve preparedness in the complex world we live in.

Starting with reflections on new approaches to governance in complexity, the conference will include and integrate topics such as artificial intelligence, climate and planetary health, and the collaboration between media and academic environments in relation to preparedness for health crises.

With highly relevant international keynote speakers including Dr. Roger Strand, Professor at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities at the University of Bergen, and Co-Director of the European Centre for Governance in Complexity. This conference will provide an excellent platform to share and discuss research findings and societal experiences to create resilient societies better prepared for the future.

The conference format is interactive, allowing participants to engage in thematic workshops. Additionally, it will feature oral communications and poster presentations. The event is open to a broad audience, including students, researchers, policymakers, organizations, local media, and everyone interested in preparedness for multicrisis.

We welcome abstracts covering a wide range of topics, including public health, economics, psychology, sociology, and more. Presenting your work will offer a unique opportunity to engage with experts in the field and contribute to our understanding of the long-term effects of this global crisis.

The deadline for abstract submission is the 5th of September 2023.
