Hovedinnhold

Jan Martin Nordbotten and Kent-Andre Mardal have been awarded a CAS project for 2025/2026 titled “Mathematical challenges in brain mechanics.” CAS is an independent research foundation that aims to further excellent blue-sky research. Every year, they choose three projects to be hosted by the center. Nordbotten and Mardal’s project aims to provide a rigorous mathematical framework for interdisciplinary modeling challenges in neuroscience. Their focus is on developing a unified theory for multi-physics, multi-scale, and multi-dimensional problems. In the project, there will be seminars and networking events, where recognized mathematicians in the field will be invited.
