1) Mechanisms for regulation of pain sensation. Research on mechanisms in the spinal cord dorsal horn. Emphasis on stimulus-induced potentiation of nociceptive responses in dorsal horn neurones. This is a likely mechanism contributing to hyperalgesia and allodynia after trauma or long-lasting painful conditions.
2) Participation in project on mentoring of medical students.
3) Participation in project on teachers' emotions in teaching.
Teaching students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, dental nursing and human biology.
Mainly neurophysiology and neuroanatomy, but also general organ physiology. In addition, teaching macroscopical anatomy and some cell biology and chemistry.
Special interest in educational leadership. Concerned with teaching methods that activate and stimulate students for learning.
