The main goal for EPT is to conduct research activities at a high international level in a long-term perspective while maintaining and developing close relations with strategic industry partners and the international research community.
The research and teaching activities of EPT fall within two main areas of engineering science: Process safety (PS), and Multiphase systems (MS). Active research topics include:
Theoretical, experimental and numerical investigations of multiphase systems i.e. multiphase flow, contact mechanics, fluid mechanics, explosion safety, and nanofluids.
Theortetical, experimental and numerical investigations of dust explosions, mist explosions, gas explosions, hydrogen safety, and safety science and risk.
The research activities cover a wide range of methods, from theoretical, experimental and numerical investigations of physical systems, to dicourse analysis, surveys and interviews.
