Vår forskning på plantefamilien Ericaceae er sentrert om slekten Erica og samlingene i universitetshagene, spesielt Rhododendron.

Forskningstemaene omfatter fylogeni og klassifisering, biogeografi og prosesser som fører til artsdannelse; genom-evolusjon og avgrensning av artene; pollineringsøkologi og artsdannelse; taxonomi og nomenklatur.
Vårt pågående arbeid bidrar til Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) Global Conservation Consortium for Erica, som er koordinert ved Universitetshagene.
