Hovedinnhold

During his visit, we had the pleasure of learning about the activities being conducted at the LUISS University, in Rome, and exchange views regarding investment law and policy related to energy and climate change.

Manfredi combines research with private practice in the field of public international law and investment law. Despite his young age, he has gathered plenty of scholar and professional activity. He was a visiting scholar at the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance and the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge. Manfredi holds a Ph.D. in International Law from LUISS, where he defended a Ph.D. thesis regarding “The right of individual access to international justice: between human rights and investment arbitration”.

We asked Manfredi to tell us about his experience in Bergen. In his own wordsA few weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to participate in an interesting seminar at the University of Bergen, discussing issues related to international investment law and international environmental law in the context of the ECT modernisation process. These discussions, which took place through the Research group for Natural Resource Law, Environmental Law and Development Law, allowed me to reflect and improve my research in many aspects, particularly due to the excellent insights gained during the seminar held on Friday 12 May. Besides the academic aspect, I had the opportunity to get to know a group of extraordinary professionals and they made me feel like I was at home. Last but not least, visiting Bergen and its magnificent landscapes was a truly amazing experience, allowing me to get to know a fantastic city.

Grazie mile for visiting us, Manfredi!
