Jeg er prosjektleder for EcoSens, som startet i juni 2020 og varer i fire år. Dette er et prosjekt som er finansiert av Norges forskningsråd (Unge forskertalenter prosjekt), og handler om å måle optiske egenskaper i farvann med mye partikler, såkalt optisk komplekse farvann. Eksempelvis algeoppblomstringer og smeltevann fra isbreer. Begge disse situasjonene kan gi vannet en tydelig grønnfarge, og prosjektet fokuserer også på fjernmålinger av vannet fra satellitter. Idéen er at bedre kunnskap om hva som befinner seg i vannoverflaten, kan brukes til å forbedre algoritmene som korrigerer for atmosfæren, slik at satellittbildene kan tolkes bedre.
