ENERGY IMPACTS: People, Responsibilities and the Contested Futures of Energy Developments
All are welcome to participate at the Energy Impacts Conference taking place at the University of Bergen, February 28 - March 2.
Main content
Social scientists worldwide are engaged in research, policy-making and grassroots action that aims to highlight the social, health, environmental and political impacts related to energy developments. In a world marked by an accelerated pace and intensity of resource extraction and energy developments on an expanding scale, and where responding to climate change is gaining urgency, the University of Bergen is taking an active part in the debate about the future of energy.
Over two and a half days 30 scholars will present their work on energy and its impacts. There will also be a special session where practitioners and communities will share their experiences and views. The event is co-organised by scholars at the Department of Social Anthropology and will feature the launch of the Energy Anthropology Network.
Join us at the Energy Impacts Conference from 9 am on 28. February in the auditorium at Jekteviksbakken 31. The conference will continue in Seminarrom 2 at Magnus Lagabøtes plass 1 on 1. and 2. March.
There is no entrance fee to this conference. All interested are welcome.
