Bergen Anthropology Day 2018
This September, Chr. Michelsen Institute and the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Bergen will host the second Bergen Anthropology Day. All interested are invited!
Main content
Bergen Anthropology Day will bring together anthropologists spread across the various research institutions in the city to give everyone a chance to get insight into the vast anthropological research milieus, the international collaborations, and ongoing projects happening in Bergen. We aim for a thematically broad programme to show parts of the extensive specter of ongoing projects and research groups.
New this year, is a panel entitled "Ethnography of/in Danger" where among others, Sarah Tobin (CMI) and the Departments fresh PhD, Tomas Salem (UiB) contribute with perspectives that explore various dimensions of risk and danger in ethnographic work.
Amongst the invited speakers are:
Are John Knudsen (CMI) presenting snap-shots of three projects with different aims, scope (scale) and funding agency.
Charlotte Bruckermann (UiB) gives a presentation based on her project entitled "Carbon in the Creation of Chinese Ecological Civilization".

A light lunch will be served to all guests before we move on to an afternoon filled with interesting presentations and discussions, which will be in English. The day concludes with a muscial performance and migling. The event is open to all interested. We hope to see you there!
