Department seminars

The Department of Social Anthropology has arranged regular seminars since the early 1960's.

Main content

The Department Seminars has for years invited both internal and external contributors to present their research to staff and students at the department, as well as other interested parties from academics at the University of Bergen and beyond.

The talk is held for about 45 minutes, followed by a 30 minutes discussion, before a casual gathering with light refreshments.

Each semester a new member of the academic staff at the department is responsible for inviting guests. This contributes to a varying selection of themes and guests which gives an image of the departments extensive thematic and regional interests.
