Report Launch: Grønt Helsevesen (‘Decarbonising Healthcare’)
BCEPS researchers Anand Bhopal and Emily McLean invite you to the launch of a report exploring carbon emissions from the Norwegian healthcare sector and pathways to ‘net zero’.
Main content
Overview
Globally, carbon emissions from the health sector are more than flying and shipping put together. This has inspired a global movement for low-carbon healthcare. At the United Nations climate change conference COP26 taking place in Glasgow later this month greener healthcare systems are on the political agenda for the first time. This report lays out current activities in this area and what more needs to be done for Norway to develop a zero carbon healthcare system.
Launch highlights
- Key note speech from Dave McConalogue (COP26 Health Programme Lead) about global efforts to decarbonise the healthcare system. A short overview of the report will then be presented in English.
- Panel debate (in Norwegian) will then take place with representatives from the Norwegian Health Directorate (Helsedirektoratet), Sunnaas Hospital, Helse Bergen, Klima=Helse and the Norwegian Medical Student Association.
- Coffee and breakfast will be served at Bergen Global.
