In memory of Michael Balikuddembe

CIH and Makerere University report the sad news that PhD-candidate Dr Michael Balikuddembe has passed on.

Michael Balikuddembe was an obstetrician/gynaecologist from Uganda who was doing his PhD in the NORHED-funded project HI TRAIN. He was working on developing a decision support app for health staff taking care of birthing mothers with Thorkild Tylleskär as his main supervisor.

In the picture above you see Michael Balikuddembe  (right) together with two of his supervisors: Prof Thorkild Tylleskär from CIH and Prof Nazarius Tumwesigye from the School of Public Health at Makerere University. His third supervisor was Dr Peter Wakholi from the School of Computing and Informatics Technology (CIT) at Makerere University.

He died from a liver cancer as you can read from the picture below.
