Main content
CISMAC’s Director, Halvor Sommerfelt writes that the Centre of Excellence, is now finishing a successful first five years of cutting-edge and high quality intervention research. During this period, CISMAC researchers initiated ten randomized controlled trials to evaluate promising maternal, newborn and child health interventions. Some of these trials are approaching completion. In 2017 CISMAC substantially expanded its research portfolio with 3 new research projects as well as 4 important spin-off studies.
In addition, CISMAC aims to produce valuable research findings by using existing data, and uses process evaluation to assess if interventions are implemented as planned and how interventions interact with the context.
