Historically speaking, energy usage and economic prosperity have been closely linked. The world must become more energy efficient and in a few decades, we will have to switch from fossil fuel to renewable energy in order to reach our climate goals.

At the University of Bergen, we conduct research and provide education within many areas and aspects of renewable energy and implementation of energy transition.

To succeed with and secure sustainable renewable energy resources requires technology, legal knowledge, finance, and social science - at UiB we have leading experts in all these areas.

Bergen Offshore Wind Centre (BOW)
Bergen Offshore Wind Centre (BOW) is established by the University of Bergen in order to coordinate and strengthen the research and education in offshore wind energy.

The centre has three focus areas: Wind resources, Site selection and Wind farm operations.

Centre for climate and energy transformation (CET) is an initiative at the University of Bergen, led from the Faculty of Social Sciences. The centre's goal is to produce actionable knowledge about how to achieve a sustainable transformation of society to prevent climate change.
