BIOS price rates
Main content
The hourly rate for internal customers at UiB (University of Bergen) as well as external customers within the university and college sector is 1340 NOK (Norwegian Kroner). External customers from colleges/universities and healthcare institutions have the same hourly rate but must also pay value-added tax (VAT).
For other external non-commercial customers (e.g. the institute sector) the hourly rate will be different depending on whether it is a real research collaboration or whether it is a purchase of services. In the case of research collaboration, the price is the same as for universities and university colleges. The hourly rate for services without research collaboration is 2010 NOK + VAT.
For commercial companies (e.g. the pharmaceutical industry) the hourly rate is also 2010 NOK + VAT.
For assignments over an extended period (at least 3 months), a statistician can be hired at a fraction of a full-time position with the following rates:
Percentage of full-time equiivalent | Price per year | Prices per month (annual price divided by 12 months) |
20% | 316,040 | 26,300 |
30% | 474,060 | 39,500 |
40% | 632,080 | 52,700 |
50% | 790,100 | 65,800 |
60% | 948,120 | 79,000 |
70% | 1,106,140 | 92,200 |
80% | 1,264,160 | 105,300 |
90% | 1,422,180 | 118,500 |
100% | 1,580,200 | 131,700 |
One full-time equivalent corresponds to 1,750 hours after deducting vacation time. The price for one full-time equivalent converted to an hourly rate would then be 1,580,200 /1750 = 903 NOK. Therefore, it would be more economically advantageous to choose to hire a statistician as a fraction of a full-time equivalent rather than on an hourly basis if the project extends over some time.
For external customers, value-added tax (VAT) will be added on top of the prices listed in the tables.
The option to hire a statistician on a full-time equivalent is not available to commercial companies.
