Guidelines for course registration

1.

Look through KMD Kalender and the department calendar. These documents will give important guidelines for when and where the course activities can be placed in the following semester.

2.

Register a new teaching activity here.

  • It`s possible to save the form and continue at a later stage.
  • It`s possible to upload more text and images for the course catalogue. You can do this at the end of the registration form.
  • Submission deadline is: October 15 (for the spring semester) and April 15 (for the fall semester)

3.

After the submission deadline, the administration will:

  • Forward all submitted courses to the program board, who will perform a quality check and make priorities where there should be any colitions in time/room.
  • Create the courses in FS: The course will be given a course code and be given a page in Mitt UiB.
  • Forward the course to TP: The course will be given a schedule (A calendar with any bookings for the course will then be available in MittUiB).

4.

Schedules for all courses will be available at uib.no on December, 1 (for the spring semester) and June 1 (for the fall semester)

5.

When the course has been created and booked, you will receive an email with invitation to the course in MittUiB. This will happen within December 1/ June 1. Here you can also check the calendar and find an overview of the bookings for the course.

  • Please note that the course leader is responsible for entering the content, and publish the course in Mitt UiB. If you need technical support for this, you can find this here. (norwegian)
  • If the course is not published in MittUiB within January 2., the administration will publish it without content. This is because the course will not show up in the students calendar if it isn`t published.

7.

The courses opens for registration in Studentweb on December 10., with registration deadline January 5 (Spring) and August 10, with registration deadline September 1 (Fall).

For courses with limited capasity (max. nr of students), the students will be instructed to submit a motivation letter to the course leader by email within the registration deadline. After the registration deadline, the study consultant will forward lists with registered students to the course leader. The course leader must inform the study consultant, who`s been accepted to the course, within January 10/Septmeber 10. The study consultant will then register the the offers in FS and grant the students access to the course page in Mitt UiB.

NB: It`s important that the communication regarding course enrollment goes through the Studentweb, and not between the students and the course leaders.

8.

If you need to make changes in the registered bookings, please send an email to the booking administration. Remember to write the course code in the subject-field.
