Spring semester

Week 1
- Thursday: Opening of Introductory programme for international students

Week 2:
- Spring semester starts
- Wednesday: Class registration deadline for courses with limited capacity
- Friday: HSE course for chemistry lab (information in Norwegian)

Week 3:
- Lectures starts (NB! Some lectures may start earlier, you should always refer to the course schedule)
- Information week “Internasjonal uke” (information week for Norwegian students wanting to go abroad)

15 January:
- Application deadline for additional studies after completing a degree at the faculty

1 February:
- Deadline for semester registration and semester fee payment

1 March:
- Deadline for applying for undergraduate studies at UiB via Samordna opptak for applicants with foreign credentials. Please note that there is a Norwegian language requirement for applying to undergraduate studies at the University of Bergen.

15 April:
- Application deadline admission to master’s degree programmes for applicants residing in Norway or with a Norwegian ID number (autumn admission)
- Application deadline for the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS)(autumn admission)

1 June:
- Exam plan (written exams) and course schedule (available on the course website) for the autumn semester is published.

Week 24:
- Spring semester ends

Week 25:
- Monday: Studentweb opens for semester registration for the autumn semester

~ 8 July (dates may vary):
- Reply to master’s application is published in the application portal and a response letter is sent to the applicant

Late July
- Deadline for accepting offer of admission to a master’s programme

Autumn semester

Week 33:
- Autumn semester starts
- Wednesday: Class registration deadline for courses with limited capacity
- Friday: HSE course for chemistry lab (information in Norwegian)

15 August:
- Application deadline for additional studies after completing a degree at the facult

1 September:
- Deadline for semester registration and semester fee payment

15 October:
- Application deadline for the University Centre in Svalbard (UNIS) spring admission

Week 42:
- Information week «PÅ VEG» (information in Norwegian)

1 November:
- Application deadline admission to master’s degree programmes for applicants residing in Norway (starting spring semester)

1 December:
- Application deadline admission to master’s degree programmes for applicants residing abroad (starting autumn semester)
- Exam plan (written exams) and course schedule (available on the course website) for the spring semester is published.

10 December:
- Reply to master’s application for applicants residing in Norway is published in the application portal and a response letter is sent to the applicant

Week 50:
- Monday: Studentweb opens for semester registration for the spring semester

Week 51:
- Autumn semester ends

20 December:
- Deadline for accepting offer of admission to a master’s programme
