Four More Years for Margareth Hagen

Team Hagen is the winner of the rector election at UiB. Margareth Hagen has been elected rector for another four years, along with Pro-Rector Sigrun Eliassen.

"I thank you for trusting me to lead UiB for another four years, together with a new, strong team that is eager to take on the tasks. We will collaborate with the entire, fantastic organization and work for academic freedom, predictability, and security so that the academic communities can excel. Thanks to the Øvreås rector team for the debates that have contributed to engagement and a vibrant university democracy," says Margareth Hagen.

The voting results were as follows:

  • Team Hagen: 57%
  • Øvreås rector team: 43%

The Øvreås rector team, which also ran in the election, congratulates the winning team.

"We would like to thank everyone who supported us in this campaign. We also thank you for the good debates and congratulate Margareth Hagen and her rector team on their victory," says Lise Øvreås.

In addition to Rector Margareth Hagen, Team Hagen consists of Pro-Rector Sigrunn Eliassen, who will be in charge of education, Vice-Rector Kjell-Morten Myhr, who will be in charge of research, innovation, and collaboration, and Vice-Rector Kristoffer Chelsom Vogt, who will be in charge of research, education and international cooperation.

The new rectorate at the University of Bergen will take office on August 1.
