PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The aim of this MSc project is to map the architectural elements from a selective

global representation of modern alluvial systems that occur within modern

sedimentary basins and to quantify the proportion and geomorphology of alluvial

elements and their geometric character along dip and strike of the system. I will investigate the allogenic controls (e.g. climate and tectonics) on those systems to help build predictive facies models for the subsurface. The temporal geometric change of alluvial systems over the past 30+year may be analyzed through the Google earth engine’s archive of landsat imagery.
