PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The study of marine terraces constitutes an invaluable tool for understanding the uplift history of footwall blocks in marine rift settings. This project will focus on the sedimentary analysis of quaternary marine terraces preserved for tens of kilometres along the southern margin of the Gulf of Corinth, Greece. A combination of traditional field techniques with terrestrial LIDAR datasets, photogrammetry and satellite-derived high resolution DEMs will be used in order to generate detailed 3D outcrop models that will contribute to a better understanding of the depositional processes controlling the development of shorelines fringing rift highs.
