IODP EXPEDITION 381: CORINTH RIFT DEVELOPMENT
Main content
SCIENTIFIC FOCUS
Three continuous cores from Gulf of Corinth targeting the last c. 700 kyr interval. How do faults grow and interact in the first 1-2 myr of continental rifting, and how does the fault network become localized? How does climate and rifting process control erosion and sedimentation? New proposed project, building on IODP core, focusing on deep-water syn-rift depositional systems and factors controlling them based on acquisition of multi-beam bathymetry and high resolution seismic data
