Research interests: I am a senior researcher (Forsker II) at the Centre for the Science of Learning & Technology (SLATE) at the Faculty of Psychology, University of Bergen in Norway. I got my PhD degree with distinction from Graz University of Technology, Austria. I have a Master of Science in Information Security and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Jordan.

My working experience is internationally rich. I worked as a postdoctoral candidate at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands for two years. I was involved in the national research alliance in the Netherlands for digital education between three of the largest universities there: Leiden, Delft, and Erasmus Rotterdam universities.

My academic pocket has over 60 publications in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, international peer-reviewed conferences, and workshops. I was awarded three outstanding paper awards at the Ed-media 2015 conference in Montreal-Canada, EMOOCs 2016 in Graz-Austria, and EDEN 2018 conference in Genova-Italy.

My professional academic duties include being a Norge standards member on massive open online courses, an editor of Springer Learning Analytics in Open, Distance and Distributed Learning book, guest editor at the Journal of Computing in Higher Education, and an associate editor in chief of the International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Learning (iJET). Further, I serve as a program committee of many Educational Technology international conferences and a reviewer for key academic journals.

My current research interests include but are not limited to Technology Enhanced Learning, Self-Regulated Learning, Learning/Teaching Analytics, Educational Data Mining, Online learning, Privacy and Ethics.
