Why did you choose Bergen and NOR-INTRO?
Bergen has inspired me mainly because of the Scandinavian culture, the Norwegian language and the nature surroundings. The study program at UiB offered a vast range of courses that attracted me, especially in directions of Scandinavian area studies.
I love speaking languages and I want to learn Norwegian in preparation for my studies this year, which is Scandinavian studies. 3 months before the start of the fall term, I started to learn Norwegian on my own to be well prepared.
What did you think about the course?
The course in Bergen offered me a fantastic overview of certain basic comprehension in grammar and vocabulary. I could use the knowledge I already had as a foundation, and improve my skills through speaking. Despite the fact that we had to handle the situation with online seminars, I never had the feeling of not being supported by the teacher. Furthermore, I had a lot of contact with my fellow students. We had a good time and I suppose and hope that everybody felt the same.
I can absolutely recommend this course to everyone. The course leads you through a lot of topics and learning success comes fast with the right motivation. I have already started to attend a Norwegian course in Germany. I still have contact with Norwegian friends that I speak to more or less on a weekly basis.
Any last advice for our future NOR-INTRO students?
It is not necessary to learn Norwegian before the course, so one does not need any experience.
