Students who have completed a degree at the Faculty of Psychology can apply for postgraduate studies after obtaining their degree.
What are postgraduate studies?
Postgraduate studies are a time-limited study opportunity that you can apply for after completing a degree. You can either choose courses from the study program you belonged to or select freely from courses that are open to all University of Bergen (UiB) students. This means that the course does not require a specific study right or have specific admission requirements.
If you wish to continue studying at the faculty after the expiration of the postgraduate study right, you must apply for a new study place through the "Samordna opptak" system (The Norwegian Universities and Colleges Admission Service). Applications for admission to master's programs and practical-pedagogical education should be made through "SøknadsWeb" (Søknadsweb).
Who can get postgraduate studies?
Only students who have completed a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or professional study in psychology (or Ph.D.) at the Faculty of Psychology can obtain postgraduate studies at the faculty. The scheme does not include students who have completed a one-year study in psychology or pedagogy, or practical-pedagogical education.
Postgraduate studies are only granted in the following semester/year after the degree is completed. If you complete your degree in the spring semester, you can get postgraduate studies for the upcoming fall and spring semester. If you complete your degree in the fall semester, you can get postgraduate studies for the upcoming spring semester.
How do I become a postgradute student?
If you wish to apply for postgraduate studies, you must apply through "SøknadsWeb" (Søknadsweb). Select the admission category named "poststudenter" (postgraduate students) and then choose the faculty where you completed your degree.
Note: If you completed your degree at another faculty, you must apply to that specific faculty.
You will be informed by email when the study right is granted (usually after the application deadline).
