Christmas greetings from GHP
Best wishes and a happy holiday season to all of you from the Global Health Priorites Research Group
Merry Christmas from GHP
Main content
Exactly one year ago, I started the position as a research coordinator for GHP. It didn’t take me long to realize that not only would I have the privilege to work with excellent researchers and professionals, but that I would also be joining a group of people that knows how to combine hard work with a sense of humor and friendliness. This, I believe GHP owe much of its success and might also be at the core of what lead us to be awarded research group of the year, by the Faculty of Medicine this spring!
Seven candidates from our group have defended their PhDs this year, and I want to quote one of them Mieraf Tadessa Tolla (now a post doc at Harvard): “The research group has been a sounding board where I can get reflections on my thoughts/my work through formal presentations but even through informal exchanges at the corridor and at the coffee machine… The research group for me is a group of lovely people that I dare to call "family/friends away from home”.
We will bring this mindset with us now that we have moved from Kalfarveien to new offices in “Overlege Danielssens Hus” (just as a curiosity, Danielssen himself, a successful doctor, politician and researcher, was also known for putting great effort into the social atmosphere). Being closer to our colleagues at CIH who are also engaged in improving health in low-income settings will be a great asset for us. We are looking forward to closer collaboration in 2019, and the years to come!
Home, or travelling, wherever you are when reading this newsletter, I want to wish you all a happy holiday season on behalf of the Global Health Priorities group, and the very best for the year to come!
Best regards
Linn J.R. Knudsen
