On August 27th 2021, Kjersti Fløttum was invited to speak at the Climate Departement of the Municipality of Bergen, to present results from the recent school survey on lifestyle in light of climate change.

Kjersti Fløttum, project leader of the CLIMLIFE research project, was invited to speak at the Climate Departement of the Municipality of Bergen, to present results from a recent school survey. The survey, conducted by the LINGCLIM research group, comprises replies given by 381 high school students on climate- and lifestyle-related questions. In her presentation, Fløttum had a special focus on young people's perspective on a "green lifestyle", how they perceive their own role when it comes to climate-friendly lifestyle, opportunities for political participation and young people's thoughts on the future. The results indicate high engagement among the students, but also point at difficulties regarding the questions what an individual (young) person can do, and how effective actions to mitigate climate change are.
