At the LINGCLIM meeting on Friday 10 November 2023, the change of leadership was solemnly marked by the handover of the LINGCLIM key.
New leader of the LINGCLIM research group
Professor emerita Kjersti Fløttum handed over the key to associate professor Øyvind Gjerstad, who is now the new leader of the research group.
Professor Kjersti Fløttum started the cross-disciplinary LINGCLIM research group in 2010 and headed it until she retired August 2023. She is still active in the group as professor emerita. The research group has collaborated with NORCE, the Bjerknes Center for Climate Research, NHH Norwegian School of Economics, the Research group for Environmental Humanities (HUMKLIM) and Centre for Climate and Energy Transformation (CET). For surveys and experiments LINGCLIM has collaborated with the Norwegian Citizen Panel within the DIGSSCORE infrastructure.
Launch of the CLIMLIFE report
The meeting also marked the occasion to present the final report from the CLIMLIFE project.
For the past three years (2020-2023), the cross-disciplinary CLIMLIFE project has studied how Norwegian citizens relate the challenges of climate change to their normal, day-to-day life choices. You will find more information about CLIMLIFE on the project's website.
The report presents research results from the interdisciplinary project CLIMLIFE, led by Professor Kjersti Fløttum, Department of Foreign Languages, University of Bergen, and funded by the Research Council of Norway 2020–2023. It summarizes contributions from the project members and also contains a foreword by journalist and author Andrew C. Revkin and an afterword by former EU Commissioner for Climate Matters, Connie Hedegaard.
