Bjørn Enge Bertelsen joins Poverty Politics

Having started in August 2010, Bjørn Enge Bertelsen joins the research programme Poverty Politics.

Bjørn Enge Bertelsen defended his PhD in social anthropology at UiB in April 2010. During his PhD he worked on the colonial and postcolonial politics, state formation and the traditional field Mozambique. His postdoctoral project is entitled "Social imaginaries of death, suffering and accumulation. Urban spaces of insecurity and poverty in Mozambique and Zimbabwe" and further details about this project can be found here. Bertelsen has worked and published extensively on issues such as post-war re-constructive practices, vigilante justice, sorcery, cosmologies of power, state formation processes and riots and has also edited a book on the relation between state formation and war.
