Climate scientist from GEO will be leaving on exiting fieldwork in Borneo

On Saturday, March 17, Stein-Erik Lauritzen and Nele Meckler will be leaving for fieldwork in Borneo, Malaysia for the NFR-funded research project T-TRAC. They are working with an international team of colleagues on reconstructing tropical climate changes across the last half million years from stalagmites in Gunung Mulu National Park. During the 2018 expedition, the main focus will be on monitoring temperatures and drip water chemistry in the present-day cave system in order to better understand the proxy signals.
