Main content

This project uses data from the Register of Sleep Medicine at Haukeland University Hospital and includes patients with suspected sleep disorders. The register primarily comprises patients with sleep apnea, but also a minor patient group with severe hypersomnia is included. Furthermore, the register contains follow-up data from patients who have received CPAP- or other treatments at the clinic. Several articles have been published and many PhD candidates are working with data from the register.

PhD projects

  • Patient specific factors predicting adherence and treatment effect of oral appliance therapy in obstructive sleep apnea. PhD candidate: Kjersti Gjerde:  Period: 2017-2021
  • Consequences of obstructive lung function and sleep apnea; trifle or tragedy? PhD candidate (the Dual competency Program: Trygve M Johannesen.  Period: 2017-2025
  • Acoustic pharyngometry to improve the treatment effect of oral appliance therapy in obstructive sleep apnea patients. PhD candidate (the Dual competency Program). Period: 2018-2026
  • Obstructive sleep apnea and comorbidity: Treatment outcomes, influence on other sleep disorders, and the impact on inflammatory and metabolic biomarkers”. PhD candidate: Ragnhild Stokke Lundetræ. Period 2022- 2026.
