New publication: Liquid Integration

The paper tries to lay down a new perspective on integration – named liquid integration – in the context of increasing international mobilities, migration and social change. The point of departure is the idea of “liquid” modernity, times and society, introduced by Zygmunt Bauman. With the idea of ‘liquid integration’, the focus of the analysis turns from the static to the contingent processes and dynamics of adjustment and counter adjustments of individuals, their practices and structures in the context of complex mobilities and migration in a temporal life course focused (cross-sectional as well as longitudinal) perspective.
