Main content

How do interprofessional identity and -competences develop?

How can we optimise interprofessional learning?

How can interprofessional collaboration improve health and social care services?

With the research project «A circular educational framework to help solve healthcare challenges: interprofessional education and collaborative practice for the future» (IP-future), we will answer these questions and launch a workplace-based IPE model with mutual benefits for all stakeholders involved: students, healthcare personnel, patients and educational institutions.

We will investigate outcomes and impacts of real-life IPE and through research align education with the urgent need to create a future workforce equipped to provide optimal health and social care services and tackle the increasing complexity in the needs of the patients. During the project we will create a comprehensive research database with data collected from students during and after completing an IP programme in TVEPS, as well as from health care professionals and patients.

The project includes >900 students each year from 18 healthcare education programmes, and >110 workplaces in Bergen and Øygarden municipalities. IP-future is multidisciplinary and has partners from Bergen, Tromsø and Groningen (the Netherlands).
