The Ultradian conference will be held in Bergen, Norway 28 - 29 August 2019. 

Conference registration

 

Join this 2-day meeting to learn more about the importance of biological rhythms and hormones in normal conditions and diseases affecting the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal axis. Internationally renowed speakers and members of the H-2020 Ultradian consortium will present their findings in lectures and poster presentations. A practical demonstration of an ambulatory 24hour sampling system of biological fluids will be given

Scandic Byparken won the award for the county's best hotel breakfast in 2018! Its located in the middle of Bergen city, close to known sights such as Torgallmeninngen square, Grieghallen concert hall and the old wharf Bryggen. And its just 3 minutes walk to The Univeristy Aula.

Return time: Between 22:00 and 22:30
Please note that it takes about 20 minutes to walk from the conference venue, to the Funicular.

You will be meet by a representative with an Ultradian sign at the entrance to the Funicular, where you will receive a reurn ticket. Please keep the ticket with you so you can get back down after dinner.

If you would like to walk up to Mount Fløyen and the restaurant, it takes between 40 to 50 minutes. There are good trails the whole way.

Guided tour Thursday 29th of August

Meeting time: 19:00. Duration: 1,5 hours
Once you arrive at Scandic Byparken you will be placed in a group with a designated guide. The guided tour will take you from Scandic Byparken, through Torgallmenningen, Bryggen, Bergenhus festning and Skuteviken to the final location Bod24 for dinner.

We hope you will enjoy the guided tour of Bergen and Bryggen!

Return: There are busses passing the restaurant frequently. But if you prefer to walk it takes approx. 20/30 minutes to Bryggen

Meals

Coffee and lunch is included in the registration fee and will be served daily at the conference venue.

 

Badges

Each participant will receive a name badge upon registration. For security reasons all participants are requested to wear their badge during all the meeting activities and social events.

 

Confirmation

Hotel reservations will be confirmed only when the congress organizer, Fjell og Fjord Konferanser, has received your payment. Fjell og Fjord Konferanser has the right to charge you for all nights reserved and guaranteed for on the registration form, also in case of no-show.

Confirmation will be sent upon receipt of payment. In order to receive confirmation of registration on e-mail, please indicate your e-mail address when you register.

It is your personal responsibility that all details such as address, booked events, number of tickets, hotel reservation, date of arrival and departure, etc. are in accordance to your wishes. Neither the organisers of Ultradian nor the Conference Secretariat will assume any responsibility whatsoever for damage or injury to persons or property during the conference. Participants are recommended to arrange for their own personal travel and health insurance.

Delegates with European citizenship do not normally need visas.

Airport and transport information

Local transportation to Bergen City Centre from the airport:

Bergen airport is situated 20 km south of Bergen City Centre and it takes approx. 30 min by car/bus or 45 min by Light Rail. You can pay your busticket or light rail ticket by creditcard.

 

Airport Express Coach (“Flybussen”)

At the airport the Airport Coach is waiting outside the arrival area, and during daytime the bus departures every 15 min (Saturdays every 20 min). Late at night there are departures approx. 20 min after your plane has landed. All scheduled flights (not chartered flights late at night) are being served by Airport Express Coach in Bergen.

In Bergen city centre the Airport Coach stops right 150 meter from Hotel Scandic Byparken.

Bergen Light Rail

A cheaper alternative is the Light Rail (Bybanen) that takes you all the way from the airport to the city center. The light rail stop is right outside the terminal. Tickets for the Light Rail can be bought using an app, ticket machine at the Light Rail stop, or at the baggage claim area (credit cards will be accepted). See timetable here.

 

Taxi

There are also several taxi companies operating from the airport. The taxi stand is located just outside the terminal. All taxis accept credit cards.

Currency exchange

All Norwegian banks and major post offices exchange foreign currency. Currency exchange offices are also located at Bergen Airport Flesland and at the train station.

 

Credit cards

The use of credit cards is widespread in Norway, and they are accepted everywhere.

Eurocard, MasterCard, VISA, American Express and Diners Club are the most common. It is a good idea to check with your credit card company about the degree of acceptability and available services before you leave home.

Note that most food stores however only accept debit cards.

The weather in Bergen in August is normally pleasant, but bring an umbrella!
