Remnants of the Catholic cult the collection was called, and the objects are now on display at Bergen Museum.

“What books are for the reader, pictures are for those who cannot read”.This is a quote from Pope Gregor the Great at the end of the 6th century. The purpose of the pictures on the church walls was to be the books of the people, and during sermon the priest explained the pictures in more detail, thus enabling the congregation to “read” the Christian message.
