The background for this was an exclusive gift to Bergen Museum from Anders and Janette Buraas and their two children Peter and Karen Winifred. The donation is in remembrance of Anders Buraas’ mother Dagny von Tangen. The gift comprises all in all 45 Russian icons, all from the period 1750 to 1900.

The icons are placed in a separate exhibition room on the first floor of The Cultural History Collections. A permanent exhibition. The exhibition is curated by Professor Henrik von Achen.
