Offshore ocean exploration, industrialization, and conservation

Cindy Lee van Dover, Duke University, SC, USA, is Director of Duke University Marine Laboratory and a Professor of Oceanography at Duke University. On the proposal of the University Museum, she will receive an honorary doctorate from UiB for her contributions to modern deep sea research. On the occasion of the event, she will give a lecture on conservation issues linked to different types of exploration of ocean areas. The lecture is open to all.
