Midterm meeting at Solstrand Hotel
On the 8th and 9th of November, VISTA CSD invites collaborators, industry partners and the scientific advisory board for its midterm meeting.

VISTA CSD’s primary objective is to develop fundamental knowledge and educate next generation researchers to understand how subsurface fluid injection and extraction results in deformation, fault reactivation and fracturing.
The two research pillars of the center address the potential of Groundbreaking Modeling Concepts for Deformation in Porous Rocks (P1) and the demand for understanding of Fundamentals of Induced Subsurface Deformation (P2). The third pillar of the center is dedicated to support education and career development for PhD and postdoctoral candidates: The VISTA CSD Researcher Training Program (P3).
On Wednesday, November 8th, we meet at Solstrand Hotel & Bad together with the scientific advisory board, external collaborators and industry partners to discuss the research activities within the center. Below is a short summary of the program for the two days:
- Wednesday, November 8th: presentations from each of the seven projects associated with P1 and P2, as well as a presentation from keynote speaker Ruben Juanes from MIT.
- Thursday, November 9th: presentations from affilliated projects and a talk by industry partner Gunnar Gunnarson.

Please bring clothes and shoes for a longer walk outside (day 1).
